Top 10 online pokies NZ: ten sites tried, ranked by what they put in writing

This top 10 online pokies NZ list ranks sites by the payout terms they publish, not by who pays us most. We opened 10 sites from a New Zealand IP on 5 October 2026. 9 are ranked below. Mr Bet sits unranked, and the reason is given.

How the ranking works

  1. We open the operator's own help centre, terms and footer. Review sites are not a source.
  2. We copy the minimum deposit, the processing time, the transfer time per method, the limits and the licence number.
  3. If two pages of the same operator disagree, we show both and rank on the worse one.
  4. We sort by the slowest stated e-wallet payout. Ties go alphabetically.
  5. We list what we did not do. No account was opened and no withdrawal was timed.

The full method, with its limits, is on how we check pokies sites.

Tried, not ranked

This completes the ten. We do not fill gaps from other review sites.

Sites opened on 5 October 2026 that we could not rank
SiteWhat we sawStore app (NZ listings)
Mr Bet sends New Zealand visitors to rotating mirror domains (1mrbet.club to 10mrbet.club) that name different operators and have no payments page not looked up

Licences

No site here holds a New Zealand licence. Nobody does yet[4]. Up to 15 will be issued[67], the first from early 2027[68].

What the ranked sites do hold, as printed in their footers:

Only Wildz says on its New Zealand page that it has no NZ licence yet[42]. The others are silent on it.

On 1 December 2026, providers that have not applied for a NZ licence must stop operating here[69]. Expect this list to change that week.

On your phone

Store apps are rare. Casumo, Casimba, LeoVegas have an iOS app in the New Zealand App Store[6][70][71]. None has an operator app in Google Play; the rest work in the browser. The NZ pokies app page has the listings and the install steps.

Safer play

You must be 18 or older[67]. If play stops being fun, call the Gambling Helpline on 0800 654 655 or text 8006[72]. It is free, day and night. More on responsible gambling.

Who this list is wrong for

If you want a same-day payout in writing, this list does not have one. The top row, Casumo, states up to 3 days for approval[2]. If you want a New Zealand licence, nobody has one yet.

It works if you want written terms you can hold an operator to, with dates. For the money side in detail, read online pokies for real money.

  • Done: Built the page list from New Zealand search demand (Google Ads volumes, October 2026): 274 queries sorted into 6 pages
  • Done: Read the footer, terms, help-centre and payment pages of Casumo, LeoVegas, Casimba, Dream Vegas, Wildz, Lucky Days, SpinYoo, Galactic Wins, Boo Casino and Mr Bet on 5 October 2026, from a New Zealand IP
  • Done: Looked up each casino in the New Zealand App Store and in Google Play search on 5 October 2026
  • Done: Matched the Galactic Wins and Boo Casino licence against the Malta Gaming Authority register on 5 October 2026
  • Done: Read the Online Casino Gambling Act 2026, its 2026 regulations and the Department of Internal Affairs pages for players and providers on 4 October 2026
  • Done: Opened the provider demos of Gates of Olympus, Sweet Bonanza, Book of Dead, Bonanza Billion, Big Bad Wolf, Starburst, Mental and Wanted Dead or a Wild without signing up, from a New Zealand IP on 5 October 2026
  • Not done: No casino accounts opened, no deposits made, no withdrawals timed; the cashier inside an account was not seen
  • Not done: The New Zealand IP was a VPN, and pages were read on a desktop browser only, not on a phone
  • Not done: Mr Bet sent us to mirror domains naming different operators, with no payments page; it is not ranked
  • Not done: Licence numbers other than Galactic Wins and Boo Casino are copied from footers and not matched against a regulator register

Questions Kiwis ask

Why does a top 10 show nine ranked sites?

Because we only rank what we could read. 10 sites were opened from a New Zealand IP on 5 October 2026. 9 went into the ledger. Mr Bet sends New Zealand visitors to mirror domains with no payments page, so it is listed without a rank.

How is the ranking decided?

By the longest payout time the operator itself puts in writing, e-wallet route first. If the help centre and the terms disagree, we rank on the slower figure. Ties are listed alphabetically. Commission does not move a row.

Is online gambling legal in New Zealand?

Playing with an offshore provider that served NZ before the Act is legal for you, according to the Department of Internal Affairs. Providers that have not applied for a licence must stop operating in New Zealand on 1 December 2026.

Are these online casinos safe?

The regulator's own answer is cautious: until the licensed market exists, online casino gambling is unregulated here and there are no guarantees of player safety. The sites in the ledger hold licences from Gibraltar, MGA, Kahnawake, Curaçao, copied from their footers. None is a New Zealand licence.

Where can I get help with gambling?
